Each day I drive past the house where Sophie used to live.  I wonder at the changes and hope that the new family gets to feel all the memories of my friend.  She was quite the inspiration, I bet there are some good vibes abounding.  Painted white and with some new windows that are not red, the red handrails and red storm door still shout out, "Sophie."  They added a side door and a little patio off the kitchen with a fence.  The brick terrace on the front has two elephants with raised trunks and an urn with a lovely evergreen, still lit every night.  The house is sheltering another family and I must move on...but it will always recall to me her brilliance, stamina, courage and wit.  If Galileo ever becomes a saint, we will know that she and the other physicists in Heaven will have made their point.  Sophie, you were one of a kind.  I so miss you!

My sincerest condolences to Dr. Moore's family.  She was a wonderful  colleague and friend for many years in the Department of Physics at Farmingdale State College.

Sophie was my grandmother and a constant presence in my life. She was kind, supportive and intelligent and the world is poorer for her passing.
