Stephen Klch

Born on July 9, 1940, in the Bronx, New York, Stephen carried with him the strength, resilience, and spirit of his New York roots throughout his life. After proudly serving his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, he returned home and began what would become a remarkable 44-year career as an airline mechanic. He worked for National Airlines, Pan American Airlines, and ultimately retired from Delta Airlines. Stephen’s work ethic was legendary—over the course of four decades, he never took a sick day. His dedication, reliability, and pride in his craft earned him the respect and admiration of colleagues and friends alike.

On April 20, 1980, Stephen married the love of his life, Marguerite. Together they blended their families, creating a warm and loving home. They spent over 30 happy years in Coram, New York, building a life centered on family, commitment, and shared values. In 2015, following Marguerite’s retirement, they moved to Boynton Beach, Florida, where they enjoyed ten wonderful years together, surrounded by sunshine, friendship, and the closeness they cherished.

Stephen is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Marguerite; his children, Stephen M. Klch (Rhonda), Edward Schussler (Lori), Peggy Prunty (Dave), and Christopher Klch (Michelle); and his cherished grandchildren, Danny House, Allison Schussler, Zach Klch, Jacob Klch, Ryan Klch, Allyssa Prunty, Leo Klch, and Emilia Klch.

He will be remembered as a devoted husband, proud father and grandfather, steadfast provider, and a man of unwavering integrity. His legacy lives on in the family he loved so deeply and in the example he set through a lifetime of service, dedication, and quiet strength.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, March 27, 2026 from 10 am to 12 pm at O.B. Davis Funeral Homes, 4839 Nesconset Highway, Port Jefferson Station, NY 11776. Prayer service at 12 pm. Interment of ashes to follow at Calverton National Cemetery, 210 Princeton Blvd., Calverton, NY 11933.
