Alice Sue Dunaway

Alice Sue Dunaway, 92, passed away May 10, 2014. She was born July 6, 1921 in Bastrop to the late Frank and Annie French. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary and the First Baptist Church in Port Lavaca.

She is survived by her daughter, Gloria (Glo) Marek; son, Donnie Lee Marek; daughter-in-law, Sharron Dierlam Marek; brother, Ernie French; sister-in-laws, Bonnie (Ernie) French, Doris Kliber, Marie (Julius) Simper, Johnny Murphy; grandsons, Moby Marek, Maury Marek; great-granddaughters, Madi Marek, Megan Marek, Molly Marek; great-grandson, Jake Marek; her faithful four-legged companion, Scooter and numerous family members, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Charles R. Dunaway; grandson, Steven Curry; parents; siblings, Marie Hugo, Alma French, Bryson French, T. French and sister-in-laws, Evelyn Kemper and Billie Pfeiffer.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 from 5-6:30 p.m. at Richardson-Colonial Funeral Home in Port Lavaca. Funeral Services will be Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Mike Gresham officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Gardens.

Pallbearers are Lynn Hugo, Gordon Pfeiffer, Moby Marek, Maury Marek, Mike French, Ron Cervenka and Dale French.

Honorary Pallbearers are Ernie French, Darrell Kemper, Bobby Lee, Frank Stafford, Frank Havel, Julius Simper and Pete Pfeiffer.

We would like to thank all of the nurses from Girling Heathcare for their support for eight years, both in Victoria and Corpus Christi, TX. They were always supportive and treated our Mom with dignity and respect along with Spohn Hospice for their support and care to include Claire Gilmore and Chaplin Connie Bures. She was grateful for the caretakers that took excellent care of her and these ladies were her friends as well; Marta, Angie, Cyndi, Britney, Lillian, Dale, Jewel and Geraldean. If I needed them they were there for Mom and me. We will always appreciate their loving care and we truly feel blessed to have had these wonderful ladies.
