

Capt. Arnoldo Recio Davila, 73, of Port Lavaca, TX, passed away, Wednesday, August 22, 2012 after a 8 year long battle with cancer surrounded by his loving family. He was born on Wednesday, April 19, 1939 in Laredo to Isabel Recio Trevino and Jesus Leura Trevino. He was later adopted by his step father Guadalupe Z. Davila, Sr. He was a self-employed commercial fisherman/longliner of the high seas, Retired Master-Pilot for Texas Parks and Wildlife Coastal Fisheries Dept., member of the Masonic Lodge #36, served in the U.S. Army, volunteer for Hospice of South Texas, International Executive Service Corps, Texas A & M Sea Grant Program.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Angelita (Angie) Ureste Davila. Born to this marriage are daughter, Sarita (Jason) Bonuz and sons, Ari E. Davila and Adrian “Zeke” Davila. Granddaughter, Gabrielle Bonuz, Grandsons; Steven Bonuz, Ayden Davila, & Luke Bonuz. He is also survived by his children of his first marriage, Mary Jane D. Musgrave, Belinda D. Garcia and Arnold Davila and their grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Rosemary Kerns Newton, Sylvia T. Santos and Dora T. White; brother, Guillermo Trevino and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Amparo Carrisales and Eulalia Trevino and brothers, Guadalupe R. Davila, Jr., Luis R. Davila, Jesus L. Trevino, Jr. and Frank Trevino.
Visitation will be held Sunday, August 26, 2012 from 5-7 p.m. with a rosary at 7 at Richardson-Colonial Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Monday, August 27, 2012 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of the Gulf with Father Ty Bazar officiating. Interment will follow in Port Lavaca Cemetery with military honors under the auspices of the Calhoun County Veterans Joint Honor Guard and the Masonic Lodge #36 Agent Free and Accepted Masons.
Pallbearers are Arnold Perez, Jr., Dr. Ming Tin Lin, Ben Mota, Michael E. Hawes, RJ Shelly, Rene Davila, Johnny Campos, Jr. and Gregory McCurry.
Honorary Pallbearers are Bobby Clegg, Kenneth Clark, DJ Williams, CT Thomas, Dr. LV Pentecost, Gary Graham, Joe Surovik, Howdy Leal, Larry Patterson and Damian Chaparro Jiminez.
