Bruno was born September 15, 1935 in Yorktown, TX to the late Peter and Francis (Drzymala) Koronczok.
He spent most of his life in Port Lavaca, TX. and was the second of his family born in America. His father, Peter, emigrated from the Silesian region of Poland in 1923. When Bruno was just short of 18 years old, his father died suddenly. Alcoa offered Bruno his father's position. He took the job and retired from Alcoa 35 years later.
Bruno lived life on his own terms without apology. Most took an instant liking to him. He loved a good laugh and enjoyed being surrounded by family and friends-particularly his 10 grandchildren and 12 (almost 14) great grandchildren. He loved the Lord, Jesus Christ, and did his best to help others whenever he could. He was a great cook, loved to fish, two-step, listen to country music, watch old movies, play a game of pool every now and then and watch football.
In the past few years, Bruno suffered much loss. From February of 2010 to July of 2011, Bruno lost his son, Todd; his wife of 54 years, Gloria, and finally his precious daughter Teresa (Rodgers). His health has steadily declined since.
Bruno is remembered with love by son, Steve and wife, Christy; grandchildren, great grandchildren; devoted sister, Harriett West and husband, Bert; brother, Roman and wife, Pearl; brother, Oscar and wife Linda. He will be greatly missed by his niece, nephews and their children. His younger sister, Laura, predeceases Bruno.
