

Charles R. Dunaway, Sr, 77 of Victoria passed away June 28, 2010. He was born October 11, 1932 in Caldwell, Texas to the late John Edgar and Joyce Eunice Pearson Dunaway. Mr. Dunaway was retired from Alcoa as a supervisor in the lab for 30 years. He was a Baptist.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years Alice Sue French Dunaway of Victoria; his daughter Lisa Askew and husband Frank of Bay City, Texas; son Charles R. “Chuck” Dunaway, Jr. of Victoria; step daughter Glo Marek of Portland, Texas; step son Donnie Marek of Port Lavaca; Sisters Doris Kleiber, Johnnie Murphy, Marie Simper and husband Julius, Laura Ann Leake all of Victoria; brother David Dunnaway and wife Jennifer of League City, Texas; grandchildren Traci Askew, Jaime Askew, Blake Askew, Moby Marek and Maury Marek; great grandchildren John Askew, Madi Marek, Megan Marek, Molly Marek and Jake Marek and his beloved dog Scooter.
Services will be held Thursday July 1, 2010 at 2 PM from the Richardson/Colonial Funeral Home in Port Lavaca with the Rev. Allen T. Coffey officiating. The family will receive friends from noon Thursday until time of services. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Elroy “Buck” Brogger, Bobby Lee, Carl Laney, Frank Havel, Lefty Saenz and Bill Elliott. Honorary Pallbearers will be Frank Stafford, Roland Cain, A.J. Filla and Bob Chambliss.
Interment will follow in Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery with military honors provided by Calhoun County Veterans Joint Honor Guard.
