Christopher Hodges, 38, of Port Lavaca passed away September 4, 2018. He was born May 27, 1980, in Port Lavaca to Harvey Jean and Kathy Kabela Hodges. He loved carpentry and was a talented builder. Growing up, he enjoyed spending time on the farm with his grandparents and cousins. He loved animals, nature and being outdoors.
He is survived by his daughter, Madison Dakota Hodges of Port Lavaca; parents, Harvey and Kathy Hodges; sisters, Brandi Henke (Kevin) of Port Lavaca, Brianna Hodges (Zan Wade) of Port Lavaca; niece, Makenna Henke and nephews, Mason Henke and Derek Wade. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Earnest and Bertha Kabela and Leonard and Eleanor Hodges.
Visitation will be Saturday, September 8, 2018 from 12-12:30 p.m. with a rosary to begin at 12:30 p.m. at Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will follow the rosary at 1:00 p.m. at the church with Father Tommy Chen officiating. Burial will follow in Six Mile Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Michael Balajka, John Culpepper, Kevin Henke, Lucas Kabela, Rodney Korczynski, Steve Korczynski, Jim Rudellat, and Zan Wade. Honorary pallbearers are Darryl Culpepper, Carson Kabela, Daniel Perez, and Gregg Alexander.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to help defray medical and funeral expenses.
