is reunited with his loved ones, as that is what he yearned for.
He was born on October 25, 1931 in Port Lavaca, TX to the late Everette W. and Leona Fellers
Wilborn. Rudy retired from Avondale Shipyards. He formally worked for ALCOA shipyards. He was
a member of Six Mile Assembly of God Church. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army in
the 82nd Airborne, then the 508 Airborne where he was a parachute instructor. He served in the
Korean War. He owned a plane in his younger days, and enjoyed flying. He spent many years
serving the Lord in the ministry as a Sunday School teacher, was over the Bus Ministry, and
worked as a minister in the prisions. He was the former president of the Fraternal of Eagles in
Port Lavaca. He was a former Sandcrab football player and brought them to their first
championship, It earned him a scholorship to Texas A&M University. He was a scout leader and a
former Eagle Scout.
Rudy was survived by his beloved wife, Anita Key Wilborn, daughter Connie Wilborn and husband,
Michael Siler of Port Lavaca, sons, Clarence R. Wilborn, Jr. and wife Sheila of Amarillo, Son,
Mark Wilborn of Slidell, LA. He had 12 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. He had 7
step-children, Cindy Garza, Linda Carter, Wayne Treybig, Tate Treybig, Vickie Miller, Elaine
Terlinden and Gary Treybig. Numerous step-grandchildren. He had a special friend, Cheryl
Mitchell and family that called him Uncle. He is also survived by his sisters, Inona Buren, and
Peggy Wilborn, brothers, Briggs Wilborn, and Rev. Tommy Wilborn.
He was proceeded in death by 3 children, Gregory Wilborn, Paul Wilborn, and Cynthia Wilborn
Jenkins. Brothers Leo Wilborn, Everette "Buddy" Wilborn and Jerry Wilborn.Sister,Joy Graham.
A time of visitation will be on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 from 6-8 p.m. at Richardson-Colonial Funeral Home, and services performed by Rev. Tommy Wilborn and Rev. Johnny Kisiah will be held on Thursday, June 26, 2014 at 10 a.m. at Richardson-Colonial Funeral Home. Burial will be at Greenlawn Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Danny Graham, Derk Goodrich, Tristum Mitchell, Garland Graham, Jr., Larry Wilborn and Briggs Wilborn, Jr.
Honorary Pallbearers are Trent Picou and Bryan Carlson.
