Clemencia Balboa Resendez, 88, of Port Lavaca passed away March 27, 2019. She was born November 23, 1930 in Yorktown, TX to Faustino and Flora Balboa. Her hobbies included playing bingo, crocheting, spending time with her grandchildren, and sewing as a seamstress. She is survived by her daughters, Linda Ovalle (Jesus) and Sylvia Ybarra; son, Joe Resendez Jr. (Frances); 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter, Addyson Luna. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe V. Resendez Sr.; daughter, Maggie Pena; parents; sisters, Angelita Zamora, Tulitas Muniz, Adelina Flores, Tomasita Gallegos, Carolina Flores, Carmelita Caballero, Inocencia Guerrevo, and Ginoveva Nelson; brothers, Ernesto, Isidero and Anastasio Balboa; and one great-grandchild. Visitation will be held Friday, March 29, 2019 from 5-7 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. at Richardson-Colonial Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be Saturday, March 30, 2019 at 9 a.m. at Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church with Father Tommy Chen officiating. Burial will follow in Port Lavaca Cemetery. Pallbearers are Frank Casarez, Gabriel Casarez, Jesus Ovalle Sr., Marcos Ybarra, Derek Blinka, and Christopher Galindo. Special thanks to the medical staff at DeTar Hospital, Dr. Richard Arroyo-Diaz, and Davita Dialysis for their love and support; to Irene Ortiz and Irene Harborth for always making Clemencia beautiful; and a special thank you to her niece, Lydia Bazan for her love and support.
