

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, W. Bill Wyman.
Ms. Wyman graduated as Valedictorian of La Feria High School in 1940. She attended Sul Ross State University from 1940 – 1942 then transferred to Ohio Wesleyan University; where she earned her Bachelors of Arts majoring in Chemistry. Upon graduation in 1943, she began work as an Analytical Chemist for the Sharp Schurtz Co. in Ohio from 1943 - 1965. In 1953, she married the love of her life, W. Bill Wyman. They moved to Texas in 1965, at that time she was a substitute Chemistry teacher for Calhoun County ISD. When the teacher she was subbing for was unable to return, Ms. Wyman began her teaching & counseling career. She then pursued a Masters of Arts degree from Texas A & I – Kingsville in 1966. She finished her degree in Counseling & Education in 1969. At age 72, she began studying for her 3rd career and attended UH-Victoria working towards her doctorate. She received her state certificate as a professional counselor in 1998.
In Ohio, she taught First Aid, Swimming and Lifesaving classes for the American Red Cross. She was also a Guardian of Camp Fire Girls group and later a coordinator for the activities of all junior high groups. She was a life member of Beta Sigma Phi, American Birding Association, The Nature Conservancy, Texas Ornithological Society, National Audubon Society, Texas Nature Conservancy, Sierra Club, Texas Retired Teachers Association, Golden Crescent Nature Club, United States Dept. of Interior Fish & Wildlife Service/AWR, Calhoun County Crisis Hotline Volunteer, Tutor for the Literacy Council, and conducted community classes for bird identification. In 1985, she received an award for Exemplary High School Science Teaching Award from the National Science Teachers Association and CIBA-GEIGY Corporation and in 1987, was 1 of 31 individuals nominated for Outstanding Chemistry Teacher Award sponsored by Texas Chemistry Council.
Her greatest pleasure was spending time with her husband adventuring in the great outdoors. She was an avid bird watcher with over 2,920 species of birds seen across the world.
A visitation will be held on Monday, January 5, 2015 from 4-6 pm at Richardson-Colonial Funeral Home in Port Lavaca, TX. A Christian burial will be held at a later date.
