Elida Villarreal Garza

Elida Villarreal Garza, 82, of Port Lavaca passed away January 21, 2020. She was born in San Benito on January 11, 1938 to Cecilio T. Villarreal II and Flavia Flores Villarreal.

She is survived by her husband, Joe Reyes Garza; daughters, Angela Resendez, Jo Ann Gonzales (Ron), and Alma Trevino (Ramiro); sons, Arturo Garza (Natalie), and Joshua Issac Garza; sister, Elvia DeLeon (Oscar R. Sr.); brothers, Joe G. Villarreal (Herlinda) and Reuben Villarreal; sister-in-law, Geneva Villarreal; 15 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; infant daughter, JoAnn Garza; son-in-law, John Resendez; and brother, Cecilio Villarreal III.

Visitation was held Friday, January 24, 2020 from 6-9 p.m. at Richardson-Colonial Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be Saturday, January 25, 2020 from 10:30 a.m. – 12 noon at Central Baptist Church in Port Lavaca with Pastor Arturo Hernandez officiating.

Serving as pallbearers are Gavin Gonzales, Lupe Garza Jr., Oscar DeLeon, Jose Estevan Villarreal, Joe Villarreal Jr., and Jacinto Leal. Honorary pallbearers are Willie Garza and Joe R. Garza.
