

Epifanio G. Munoz, 90 of Port Lavaca passed away on Thursday, August 18, 2016 after a short battle with cancer. He was born in El Campo, TX on April 7, 1926 to Pablo Munoz Sr and Eleonor Garcia Munoz. Epifanio retired from King Fisher Marine Services after many years of hard work. He also served his country in the United States Air Force during World War II.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Celia Martinez Munoz of Port Lavaca; son, Gilbert (Erma) Munoz of Port Lavaca; brothers, Joe Munoz of Mathis, Paul Munoz of Arizona; three grandchildren, Melissa (Brian) Haney, Michael (Brenda) Munoz, Chris Munoz; and four great grandchildren, Steven (Hannah) Menchaca, Brittany Dworaczyk, Jordan Dworaczyk II and Michael Munoz.
Mr. Munoz was preceded in death by a daughter, Odelia U. Gonzalez.
Visitation will be held on Monday, August 22, 2016 from 5-7 PM at Richardson-Colonial Funeral Home with a rosary to begin at 7 PM. The Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 AM on Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church. Interment with full military honors under the direction of the Calhoun County Combined Honor Guard will be held at Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Joe Martinez, Michael Munoz, Abel Aguilar Jr., Steven Menchaca, Chris Munoz and Jordan Dworaczyk II.
