Ethel Mae Langston Smith, 83, of Port Lavaca, passed away on Thursday, July 11, 2024. She was born on October 15, 1940 to the late Red and Mae Langston. She retired from GTE in 1992 where she worked as a central office wiring technician. She had a love of art and put her artistry to work making beautiful jewelry and operating gift shops.
She goes to join her husband, Robert R. Smith, who died in 2003.
Ethel is survived by her son, Jerry Brown; daughter and son-in-law, Cindy Richter (Jim); and sister, Pam Scogin (Jerry). She was very proud of her grandchildren, Patty Howton (Calvin), Matthew Mueller (Laura), Jennifer Mueller, James Richter II, Stacy Richter, Ross Richter; and her great-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Lauren, Callee, Adam, Michaela, Riley, Maverick, Emily, Isaac and Clark.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 27th at 10AM at the Richardson-Colonial Funeral Home in Port Lavaca.
