They shared 74 of years of marriage and it is heartwarming to know they are back together after exactly 9 years. Evelyn was born on December 2, 1925 in Palacios, Texas to John William and Carrie Jane Phelps Snider. She was a Baptist and the typical “June Cleaver”. She absolutely loved spending time planting flowers, cooking and baking.
She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Ruby Collins; sister-in-law, Shirley Snider; grandchildren, Hannah Collins, Aron Collins (Giselle), Michael Collins (Melissa), Tony Collins, Brent Jones (Brianna); and numerous great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; sons, Quillen Collins, Dwayne Collins; parents; sisters, Julia Snider, Myrtle Hebel, Ethel Adams, Dorothy Key; and brothers, Johnny Snider, Lester Snider, Walter Snider, and Harley Snider.
Visitation will be held Thursday, November 5, 2026 from 6-8 p.m. at Richardson-Colonial Funeral Home. Burial will be 3 p.m. on Friday, November 6, 2026 at Six Mile Cemetery.
