Genoveva Carrera

Genoveva Carrera, 97 of Houston formerly Port Lavaca passed away, February 27, 2011. She was born January 27, 1914 in Goliad to the late Jose and Ramona Cervantes Solis. She was a homemaker and a member of the Catholic Church.

She is survived by her daughters, Anita Morales of Houston, Mary Lou Sepulveda of Noble, LA and Delia Guijosa of Turkey, TX; sons, Tony Carrera of Wyoming, Johnny Carrera of Beaumont; sister, Sophie Flores; brother, Frank Solis; 43 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents Genoveva was preceded in death by her husband Antonio Carrera, daughters, Paula C. Ramirez and Mary Jane Carrera; sons, Raymond, Joe and Sonny Carrera; sister, Elvira Flores; brothers, Issac, Roberto, Manuel and Johnny Solis.

A Rosary will be recited at 7 pm on Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at Richardson-Colonial Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 am on Thursday, March 3, 2011 at Our Lady of The Gulf Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the Port Lavaca Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Armando Morales, Tony Morales, Fernando Perez, Wally Rodriguez, Jr., Benito Ramirez, Aaron Perez, Richard Carrera, Richard Carrera and Dane Ryan Flores.
