Jaime Olivares, 57, of Port Lavaca, Texas passed away on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 in Victoria, Texas. He was born in Port Lavaca, Texas to the late Consuelo J. Villalobos on January 5, 1965. He was a graduate of Calhoun High School in Port Lavaca, and was a member of Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church. Jaime loved to cook and was co-owner of Monterrey Café with his sister, Joyce Rivera. He was a prankster and loved to give his son Jaime a hard time and was always teasing him about getting a job (which worked). He loved to spend time with family and friends, going to the movies, casino, fishing and working on cars.
In addition to his mother; Consuelo J. Villalobos, Jaime is preceded in death by his grandmother; Angelina Villarreal Villalobos, and godmother; Julia Saldivar.
Jaime is survived by his son; Jaime Olivares II, sisters; Rebecca Villalobos Smith and her husband Steve, and Joyce Villalobos Rivera and her husband Rudy, nieces; Christara Smith, Carmelita Smith, and Julia Rivera, nephew; Xavier Rivera, and great-nephew, Jackson Thomas Thigpen.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 from 5-7 p.m., immediately followed by rosary at 7 p.m., all at Richardson-Colonial Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church with Father Richard Barfield officiating. Burial will immediately follow mass at Port Lavaca Cemetery.
Honoring him by serving as pallbearers will be Jaime Olivares II, Xavier Rivera, Kevin Stringo, John Garza, Abel Salinas, and Mike Cortez. Honorary pallbearers will be Ray Anthony Villalobos, Valdemar Eloy Villalobos Jr., Noe Quintanilla II, Maximillian Villalobos, Jesus David Villalobos, Juan Villalobos Jr., Ernesto Quintanilla Jr., Christopher Aguayo and Joe Luis (Joe Joe) Aguilar.
