James Edward Elder, 72, of Port Lavaca passed away August 31, 2018. He was born June 27, 1946 in Victoria to George S. Elder Sr. and Lillian Machac Elder. James was retired from Calhoun County Precinct 2 after 32 years of service. He was a Catholic and enjoyed fishing and hunting.
He is survived by his son, Joseph Patrick Edler; mother, Lillian Machac Elder; granddaughter, Bailey Nicole Elder; and brothers, George S. Elder Jr. and Thomas H. Elder.
He was preceded in death by his father, George S. Elder Sr.
Visitation will be held Sunday, September 2, 2018 from 6-7 p.m. with a rosary to begin at 7 p.m. at Richardson-Colonial Funeral Home. Graveside services will be Monday, September 3, 2018 at 9:30 a.m. at Six Mile Cemetery with Father Scott Hill officiating.
Pallbearers are John Kabela, Curtis Elder, Raymond Brandl, Richard Meyer, John Sterling and Dr. Tyson Meyer.
