Dad I miss you so much.. There hasn't been a day that has gone by without me missing you. I think of u every morning and every night. I wish you were still here with me, anthony, and andrew. You were the best dad. Always sacrificing so much for us. I miss your smile and how u always got us to smile.  Evin miss his grandpa... I love you so much.

Even though we were related, I hadn't seen Jimbo in years. My prayers go out to his family,friends and students.

It was a great honor when I was assigned to work as an aide in James' classroom at HJM. We instantly became friends and I will always cherish our friendship. We had some great times together and a lot of laughs. I miss you and love you always! And to Glenda & Harlan, Anthony & Tina, Devin, Rusty & Evin, and Andrew... I will continue to pray for you... God Bless!

Mr. Risken has been my son's, Paul Rey, teacher since he started working at HJM. He is an awesome teacher and very kind man. He not only helped the kids in his class he helped their families too. He went to school before 7am for me so I could be at work by 7:15. He did this for a year for me and my kids. He was always ready to help in anyway. May GOD Bless his family

My heart goes out to you in this time of sorrow. I worked briefly with James in refering students of OLG school to HJM special services. I also had the joy of teaching his step daughter Ireland. My very deepest sympathy to Sabrina and her family and to all of his family. Sincerely, Nancy Thompson

A wonderful person has been taken from us. James was a nice man with a wonderful smile. I can still see him coming down the hall with his insulated coffee cup in his hand. I will miss seeing him at work. I am so very sorry.

James was my cousin by marriage. I remember all the way back to when he was born. He was a very loving child and grew into a very nice man. My Aunt Ruth by marriage was his grandmother. My heart goes out to all of his family during this time. I live in Port Lavaca as of week before last and have been meaning to contact Jimbo. I regret that I did not get around to calling him. 

Although it’s difficult today to see beyond the sorrow, may looking back in memory help comfort you tomorrow. Bless you all.

It was always a pleasure to see James come into Strictly Business. His caring ways and smiling face will be missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.

I will never forget the day my son with Autism, Gage, came home from school and said, "Mommy, I be just like Mr. Risken, I lub (love) him." The next time we went to the store Gage chose a pair of tan pants,light blue button down the front shirt, and a tie. The next day I dressed him and took him to school at HJM. I will never forget the huge smile on Mr. Risken's face when Gage walked in and said, "I be just like you!" 
   When other children wanted to dress and be like Spiderman, etc...My son with Autism wanted to be like his superhero, Mr. Risken.
   We will never forget his smile, his patience, and his love for children with special needs.
   Our thoughts and prayers are with his family. He will never be forgotten.

Mr. Risken has been in our store a number of times. ( The Wireless Store) We remember every face that comes into our store ,our Love and prayers are with him and his family . We are saddened by this ,God Bless you all.

We will miss his smile and open charm. We will never forget how generous and caring he was. God has a special angel with him now. We will remember him always..for we have many fond memories being with him at the ranch and when he came to visit us.

I remember hearing about James as the token male at HJM. I am sure that he will be missed by the children and his collegues. My Mother,Darlene Daniel, always had great respect for him. May his memory live on within those children whose lives he touched. May peace be with you all during this difficult time.

Our family is so sad to hear of the loss of Mr. Risken.  He taught my grandson Gage for four years at HJM.  He made such an impression on Gage and our family with his caring, patience, and fondness for his students.  He was always very supportive and helpful with Gage.  Our hearts go out to you at this time and please know that James was well loved and respected by our family and others who he came in contact with.  He will be greatly missed by our family and especially by Gage. James has left a lasting impression on all his students and their familys.  Know that our thoughts and prayers are with you.

My prayers and thoughts are with you and the family during this difficult time.  I worked with James for a few years before I retired.  He was a very good guy and very out going.  He always had a smile on his face and he was the kindiest person. It was a pleasure knowing him and working with him.  He will be greatly missed. May God Bless and Keep you all. I haven't seen Jimbo in awhile, but the times we shared at the ranch together I will cherish forever. Jimbo will be missed.

I am so sorry for your loss. I will miss his bright smile and him coming to the house saying "I am sorry to bother you but...." He was a great guy!!!
