

Ray Crober 89 of Port Lavaca passed away August 15, 2012. He was born February 2, 1923 in Waxahachie, TX to the late Monroe McKinley and Opal Odine Crober. Mr. Crober proudly served his country in the United States Army during WWII. He was a retired farmer and electrical construction foreman.
He is survived by his two sons, Johnnie Ray Crober, Sr. and Kenneth Earl Crober; sisters, Ann Smalley and Betsy McGrew; grandchildren, John Crober, Jr., Kim Crober, TJ and Brandi Crober, Nicholas and Tabatha Crober, Timothy and Kali Crober, Kacey and Mikel Johnson, Michael Crober, Stephanie and Steven Reeves, Shane and Kay Crober, Joanie Crober, Wayne Clare Kelly and Gilroy Merrill; 14 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents Ray was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Crober and his brother, Buster Crober.
A time of visitation will be held from 6 to 8 pm on Friday, August 17, 2012 at the Richardson Colonial Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, August 18, 2012 at the funeral home with Nathan Smalley and Kenneth Sneed officiating. Burial with Military Honors under the direction of the Calhoun County Veterans Joint Honor Guard will follow at the Port Lavaca Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Danny McGrew, Dale Smalley, Keith McGrew, Steven McGrew, Nicholas Crober, Timothy Crober, Shane Crober and Michael Crober.
