Kenneth Woodall

Kenneth Woodall, 82, of Port Lavaca, TX joined our Heavenly Father in Heaven on April 11, 2014. Born in Hubbard, TX on August 30, 1931, Ken was an Airman in the USAF and was part of the 36th Fighter Bomber Wing. On March 15, 1955 he married the love of his life, Mary Beth Woodall. After moving to Port Lavaca he worked 40 years at Union Carbide and was a retired volunteer fireman for the PLFD after 23 years. He was a lifetime member of the VFW, a member of the American Legion, a Mason, and an avid Calhoun Sandcrab Football fan. Ken read the obituaries to “find out if he had to go to work today,” little did he know he has his work cut out for him keeping an eye on all his loved ones left behind. He is survived by his wife, of 59 years, Beth Woodall; daughter Jeana Bethany (Paul), of Port Lavaca; grandchildren Laura, Robin, & Kirt Lee; great grandchildren Ashley, Alyssa, Ethan, & Austin Zambrano, and Noah Kenneth-Lee Bethany; sister Lee Battles; 6 nieces & 16 nephews; 21 great nieces & nephews; 16 great-great nieces & nephews; 1 great-great-great nephew; & his dog, Lucky. He is preceded in death by his son, Jimmy Doyle Woodall; father and mother, Curt and Alma Woodall; 3 brothers Ira, Capper “Ace,” & Sam Woodall; 2 sisters Caralou Bankston & Dorothy Gordon. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 14, 2014 at 1pm at First Baptist Church in Port Lavaca, TX followed by funeral service at 2pm with burial ceremony at Port Lavaca Cemetery. I am thankful that he and Beth were my Mother-in-Law's neighbor. He was watching out for her well-being just the week before he went in the hospital! He will be missed and we will keep his family in our prayers!
