Mary Kathryn Schreck

Mary Kathryn Schreck was born to Edward and Mary Ann Schreck as the youngest of six siblings in Weslaco, TX and passed away in San Antonio, TX on May 17, 2015 after a brief illness. She graduated from Weslaco High School and became the first member of her family to graduate from college when she finished her studies at Texas Women’s University.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Melvin, Andy and Vernon, and her sisters Gertrude and Mildred.

She is survived by a number of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great, great nieces and nephews and will be dearly missed by her close friends from the education community, many of whom she has known for over fifty years.

She was retired from the Calhoun County Independent School District where she taught for over 35 years.

Viewing will commence at 1 P.M. on Friday, May 22, 2015 at Richardson Colonial Funeral Home in Port Lavaca, TX, followed by a memorial service at 2 P.M. After the service, she will be buried in Weslaco, TX near her parents and other family members at Highland Memorial Park on Saturday, May 23, 2015.

The family wishes to express our thanks to Rachel Salinas, Pat Wilke, and Donnie Beard for all of their help and caring of Mary Kathryn over the last several years. Without their help, she would hot have enjoyed the quality of life she did and we are especially grateful for everything they did for her during that time.
