Monty Tucker

Monty Tucker, Jr., 77, of Port Lavaca passed away August 19, 2013. He was born January 21, 1936 in Calhoun County to the late Joseph Montry Tucker Sr. and Vlasta Charbula Tucker. He retired from GTE after 37 years and worked 10 years for Juls Locating. He served in the US Navy, was a Eucharistic Minister, served on the vestry and the altar guild at Grace Episcopal Church, was a Boy Scout Leader and Sheriff Reserve Deputy.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Shirley Sullivan Tucker; five daughters, Denise and Rene Carreon of Sweeny, Sherri and Wayne Scott of Crosby, Vicki Rhodes (Kevin Cavanaugh) of Baytown, Monica and Keith Carr, Sr. of Port Lavaca, Sheila and Dwayne Heathcock of Portland; grandchildren, Montgomery (Lori Beth) Carreon, Amber Carreon (Brandon Holt), Stace Johns (Brett Phillips), Walter and K.C. Carr, Travis and Schyler Mang, Shelbi Heathcock and great-grandchildren, Cash and Baron Carreon and Keelin Johns.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Thomas and Norman Tucker.

A Private Burial service will be held at a later date.

The family requests no flowers, memorials only to be made to Grace Episcopal Church, PO Box 172, Port Lavaca, TX 77979.
