Paz Morales

Paz Morales, 97, of Palacios passed away September 26, 2026. He was born July 14, 1929 in Cuero to Paz and Juanita Rodriguez Morales. Paz served in the U.S. Army during the Korean war, worked as a supervisor for ALCOA, and was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church where he served in the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed spending time cooking and baking for his family and friends.

He is survived by his children; Sylvia Cartier (Jim – deceased), Rose Mary Mallia, Kathy Matheny (Kevin), Paz Morales Jr. (Fina), Patty Morales Tenorio, Margaret Espinosa (Roland), Jo Ann Reyes, Ted Morales (Nina); sister, Janie Amador; 17 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Andrea Morales; parents; son Father Dan Morales; 3 sisters and 4 brothers.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 30, 2026 from 10-10:30 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Palacios, followed by rosary at 10:30 a.m. and mass at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Palacios Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to Fr. Dan Morales Endowment Fund, St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, or Houston Hospice.
