

Petra “Bertha” Arredondo Falcon, 98, of Port Lavaca passed away February 5, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. She was born August 8, 1917, in Waring, TX to the late Carlos and Francisca Arredondo. She was a member of Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church, served on the Sacred Heart Society, was a Cub Scout Den Mother, a devoted Catholic and made pilgrimages around the world of all the apparitions of the Virgin Mary.
She is survived by her daughters, Mary F. Villarreal and Carol Ann Villarreal (Paul); sons, John Raymond Falcon (Kathy), Joe Angel Falcon and Jesse Ray Falcon (Lottie); son in law, Rudy Cardenas; 17 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ramon Falcon; daughter, Ramona Cardenas; son, Adan Carlos Falcon; parents; son-in-law, Andrew Villarreal and was the last survivor of the Arredondo siblings.
A visitation will be held at Richardson-Colonial Funeral Home on Sunday, February 7, 2016 from 1-3 p.m. A second visitation will be held at the Funeral Home on Monday, February 8, 2016 from 5-7 p.m. with a rosary to begin at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 9, 2016. Interment will follow the mass at 1:00 p.m. at San Francisco Cemetery in Needville which is located off of Hwy 36 on Colony Road.
Pallbearers are John Craig Falcon, Bryan Falcon, Aaron Falcon, Zion Falcon, Michael Falcon, Xaviar Archangel, Edmund Villarreal and Rudy Villarreal.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Our Lady of the Gulf Capital Campaign Fund, 415 W Austin, Port Lavaca, TX 77979.
