

Ramon M Hinojosa, 97 of Port Lavaca passed away November 3, 2012. He was born February 4, 1915 in Alice, TX to the late Clemente Z. and Hermenia Macias Hinojosa. Ramon was a member of Our Lady of The Gulf Catholic Church and a retired engineer for King Fisher Marine. Mr. Hinojosa proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II. Ramon was very active in the Calhoun County Senior Citizens Association and delivering Meals on Wheels.
He is survived by his children, Teresa Regalado, Yolanda Rodriguez, Diana Rivera and husband Manuel, Ramon C. Hinojosa, Jr. and wife Patricia, Linda Beard and husband Michael, and Sylvia Alvarado and husband Juan; 18 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents Ramon was preceded in death by his wife Sara C. Hinojosa; granddaughter, Barbara Ann Padilla; son-in-law, Rafeal Regalado, 7 sisters and 2 brothers.
A time of visitation will be held from 5 to 7 pm with a Rosary to be recited at 7 pm on Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at the Richardson Colonial Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 am on Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at Our Lady of The Gulf Catholic Church. Burial with full military honors under the direction of the Calhoun County Veterans Joint Honor will follow at Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Lee Saldivar, Richard Saldivar, Simon Beard, Adam Beard, Ruben Rodriguez, Ramon Hinojosa, III, Benjamin Alvarado and Jason Rivera. Honorary pallbearer will be Benito Ramirez.
Is so desired memorial donations may be made to the Calhoun County Senior Citizens Association or the Our Lady of The Gulf Catholic Church.
The family of Ramon Hinojosa would like to thank the staff of Hospice of South Texas, Angel Care, Memorial Medical Center and Dr. Richard Arroyo-Diaz.
