Ronnie and I grew up together; he lived in Olivia and I lived in Point Comfort. We attended the same church as well as elementary, junior high, and high schools together. As youngsters, we would often take turns spending the night at each other’s homes. I always enjoyed exploring and fishing in the creek near the Abraham’s home and also deeply appreciated their family.  As we often do, I lost touch with Ronnie after high school as we got busy with college, families, and careers. That is my loss. Time is not always on our side, so making a concerted effort to reconnect with some of my good childhood friends has become a priority in my life. Rest in Peace, Ron Abraham, a good man, an early career mentor to me, a friend, and one of my biggest influencers. I worked for Ron at Baker Hughes, Baker-Atlas Logging Division in Houston in the International Operations Accounting Department in the mid 1990s. His work ethic, honesty, integrity, and character, served as a benchmark for me to aspire to as a professional and as a person. He had an infectious smile and an optimism that resonated with everyone with whom he worked. He wrote a letter of recommendation on my behalf to seven elite MBA Programs, and hopefully I honored his belief in me by gaining acceptance to one, matriculating in 1998 and graduating in 2000 and having an outstanding career. I kept in touch with him over the years. At the moment of his passing, he was enjoying his life which included a well earned retirement, traveling with his wife Debbie, and enjoying time with his grandchildren, all of which were cut short by the one indelible reality that we will all face. Ron has most certainly entered the Pearly Gates, as he watches down on the family and friends that he touched...He will be missed...SS

I will always remember the way he interacted with my boys at baseball. He would come to watch his grandson’s but when parents were needed to help on the field, he never hesitated to jump up and help coach/direct the wild baseball runners!

Our hearts are broken for you all.  What a wonderful, generous, kind and happy man he was - one just has to look at his wonderful family to know he was a good man.
