Vicente De La Rosa, 75, of Port Lavaca passed away January 31, 2018. He was born October 28, 1942 in Port Lavaca to Bernabe De La Rosa Sr. and Socorro Sanchez De La Rosa. He was a Catholic, retired from Formosa and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War from 1966-1968.
He is survived by his wife, Dora Camacho De La Rosa; sons, Vicente De La Rosa Jr. (Cheryl), Rene De La Rosa Sr.; sisters, Janie Saenz, Dominga Garcia; brother, Bernabe De La Rosa Jr.; 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Dora Saenz.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 5, 2018 from 5-7 p.m. at Richardson-Colonial Funeral Home with a rosary to follow at 7 p.m. Funeral Services will be Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at 2 p.m. in the Funeral Home chapel. Burial with military honors under the auspices of the Calhoun County Honor Guard will follow in Port Lavaca Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Zachary De La Rosa, Eloy De La Rosa, Xavier Garcia, JR Hill Alvarado, Rob Ybarra and Sammy Saenz.
