

Wilfred was born on January 8, 1925, in Yorktown, TX. He was the only son of August Bernhard and Martha Hahn. He and his twin sister were the oldest of 5 children. He spent his childhood in Port Lavaca with his parents and 4 sisters on their farm in the Green Lake area. He married Ruby Faye Curry on June 25, 1956 in Port Lavaca. They had 3 children. She preceded him in death in 1985. He was also married to the loving and caring Ruth Mueller Hahn. They married in Port Lavaca on February 19, 1994.
Wilfred was a graduate of Port Lavaca High School and made a career in the farming industry. He served in the Army during the Korean War and was stationed in Germany. He has been a lifelong member of Salem Lutheran Church. He enjoyed his family, his loyal dogs, and playing dominos with Ruth, his sisters and friends. In his younger years, he loved all things to do with cars and was even the proud owner of a very red and shiny Harley Davidson.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Mueller Hahn, his children and their spouses, Mary Lois and Mike Recio, Nancy and Sam Diebel, and Gary and Candy Hahn. His grandchildren and spouses are Faye Diebel Davis and her husband Danny and Frank Hahn Diebel and his wife, Andrea. His great-grandchildren are: Liesl Claire Davis, Lillian Faye Davis and Emma Claire Diebel. He is also survived by his step-children, Mark and Cindy Mueller, Scott and Dina Mueller, Betty and Douglas Cook and Pat and Paul Hancock. And their 18 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
He is also survived by his sisters, Alma Wehmeyer, Helen Grimes and Cecilia Dolezal. He is predeceased by his wife, Ruby Faye Curry Hahn (d. 1985), his sister, Mary Jane Schliesser (d. 1965), and his parents A.B. Hahn (d. 1974) and Martha Hahn (d. 1983).
Visitation will be held Friday, May 27, 2016 from 6-7 p.m. at Richardson-Colonial Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be Saturday, May 28, 2016 at 10 a.m. at Salem Lutheran Church with Pastor Dan Zellmer officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery.
The family would like to thank Dr. Truong, the nurses and staff of Memorial Hospital and all his family and friends for their love and support. Wilfred believed we should all live and let live. His quiet smile and quiet pride for all of us will be missed.
