

William “Bill” P. Winters, 85, of Point Comfort passed away December 13, 2011. He was born August 20, 1926 in Elizabethtown, Illinois to the late George Sol and Georgia Ann Davis Winters. He was retired from Alcoa where he worked in the Civil Engineering Department, served in the US Army during WWII and he served as an elder at the Point Comfort Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Edith Pauline Hurford Winters of Point Comfort; daughter, Glenda Winters Ezzell and husband, Benny of Cuero; son, Larry D. Winters and wife, Linda of Mission Valley; sister, Bernice Roden of Chicago, IL; brother, Ernie J. Winters of Hot Springs, AK; six grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Betty Gephart and brother, Sol Winters, Jr.
Visitation will be held Thursday, December 15, 2011 from 6-8 p.m. at Richardson-Colonial Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Friday, December 16, 2011 at 2 p.m. at Richardson-Colonial Funeral Home, Wayne DeDear officiating. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Gardens with Military Honors under the auspices of the Calhoun County Veterans Joint Honor Guard.
Pallbearers will be Brian Ezzell, Joshua Clayton, Cody Clayton, Taylor Lee, Bobby Venglar Jr. and Corey Boucher. Honorary Pallbearers will be the men of Point Comfort Church of Christ.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Point Comfort Church of Christ.
