Ana-Maria Proctor passed away on March 29, 2021, at the age of 55 after a courageous battle against COVID-19 with her husband of 31 years by her side.

Born to Dennis and Pam Mattey, Ana would travel the country during her father’s service in the Navy. After graduating high school in California, she moved back to Florida and completed her degree in Accounting from the University of Central Florida, graduating with honors. She married Jay in 1990 and their son Luke was born in 1996. Ana would go on to become a Certified Public Accountant and own a successful CPA firm.

Ana loved cooking and going to the beach, as well as going on boat rides with her dogs and husband. She loved to help stray animals whenever she could, and was known to go out of her way to return lost pets to their owners. When her son was in high school she volunteered extensively with his Cross Country team. She loved listening to classic rock, specifically Queen and Journey.

Ana is survived by her husband Jay, her son Luke, her sister Kristina, and her mother Pam.

Due to COVID-19 there will be a small private memorial held in her honor.

The family would like to thank everyone for their support and prayers during Ana’s fight against COVID, and asks to please not send flowers. They instead ask that you donate to an animal shelter of your choice in Ana’s memory.

My husband and I have known Ana for the past 15 years, she was an amazing Lady -very kind and understanding. We had many wonderful talks though the years.-and built a friendship though her work for us.
She was our CPA and she was so patient with our "book keeping ways" (I am sure she was thinking ... Oh Debbie )
We want to send out deepest condolences to her beautiful Family and know our hearts are heavy as we say goodbye to Ana.

To the Family of Ana,
I had the pleasure of meeting Ana last year when I happened to mention to a friend that I was in need of a competent & caring CPA. She said" Oh, you have to work with Ana, she is the best!"
And, she was so right.

Ana took her time to learn all she could about me before we opened my folder full of stuff! She was patient and thorough. Ana asked me questions no CPA had ever asked. I knew I was in good hands.

What a professional and she made me feel so very special. We had a few laughs together and this was just our first session.

My heart is very sad today as a friend just informed me of Our great loss. Ana was without a doubt one of the Best!

Sending my love and praying for you and with you.

In shock. Ana was so helpful, so competent, so friendly, so trusted. For years, we relied on her for advice and counsel. She will be missed.

Ana was such a lovely lady. I always took note of how she spoke of Jay. She truly enjoyed spending time with him as her spouse but also as her friend. It was evident how much they loved one another. Of course she was extremely proud of Luke and loved telling about all of his accomplishments. Both Jay and Luke were her everything.

My husband Joe and I met Ana when we went to her to prepare our taxes back in 2017. We fell in love with her instantly. Her caring and lovely demeanor as well as her expertise impressed us so much that we went to her year after year since then. This February 2021 we talked about the Covid pandemic. I mentioned to her that we both got the Moderna vaccine. We are both 70 years of age. She said because of her age she couldn’t. Last night when we found out she passed away, we really felt this big loss and emptiness in our hearts. We both cried feeling so sad. Such a beautiful person, a beautiful soul. We are going to miss her forever. Our condolences to the entire family. We pray God give you peace thru the memories of your life together with her. She was a truly blessing to us.

What a bright loving personality our community has lost 😢. let alone a wonderful wife and mother. I’m very sorry and upset about hearing this tragic news, as Im sure are many others in our Port Orange area. Although the Veselys haven’t seen Anna recently, we certainly know and understand the wonderful effect she had on those around her. She truly could “brighten up a room”. For that our deepest condolences to Jay, Luke, and all of her family members and friends. Remembering those small hot Karate rooms with Josh and Luke and now thankful for that time and conversations spent. God Bless

Such a sad loss, knew Ana because of Jay. Always kind and caring I don’t understand why these things happen but they will all be together again one day. Now I have another question to add to my list for God. 😞😞
