Anthony Reese Franzini slipped peacefully from his mommy and daddy’s arms into the arms of Jesus on October 5, 2017, after a four month fight with a childhood cancer called DIPG. He was a fighter and he “fought like a boss” to regain everything that this disease took from him.
Anthony lived a full, huge life, not measured by the short 12 years we were blessed with him here on Earth, but rather measured by the love and passion and joy and tenacity that he shined so bright with. He was like sunshine on a cloudy day. He was like laughter when you feel like crying. He was like a warm hug when you are shivering. He was like spunk when you feel like giving up. He was our knight in shining armor. His most favorite thing to do was laugh and make others laugh. He loved so deeply. We will be completely whole again only when we join him in Heaven one day.
Anthony is survived by his parents, Al and Jamie, his big brother, Nicolas, his “baby” sister, Anabelle, and a great big extended family of grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, close friends, church family, and in addition, even a “Facebook family” who faithfully prayed for him during his fight. Anthony is preceded in death by his maternal grandpa, Warren Anthony Schwarz of whom Anthony is named after, his maternal great aunt Teresa Mary Schwarz, of whom he is also named after (Reese), his Mi-mi Tammy Schwarz, great-grandmother Lucy, and two great-grandfathers, Papa Schwarz and Grandpa Charlie.
Please join us in celebrating Anthony’s life on October 14, 2017 at 2 p.m. The celebration service will be held at Crossroads Ministries in Daytona Beach, Florida. In lieu of flowers we ask that you donate in Anthony’s honor to the Michael Mosier DIPG Foundation. (www.defeatdipg.org). 100% of donations go to DIPG research (minus small processing fees of certain payment types.) In compliance with “Anthony’s dress code”, we ask that you dress super casual! If you have an “Anthony shirt”, we ask that you wear that. If you don’t have one, we ask you to consider wearing one of his favorite colors which are neon green, orange, and red. There will be love to share, rejoicing to do, tears shed, and hopefully much laughter, too, along with a light reception to follow the service.
