Antonio Cervi, 88, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Sunday, August 16, 2015, at Halifax Health Hospice of Volusia in Port Orange. Antonio was born to the late Bernardo and Teresa Cervi in Piscinisco, Italy. He married his wife, Anna Buzzeo, on January 3, 1953 in Pompeii, Italy and they immigrated to Uruguay that same year. There he worked at El Banco de Credito in Montevideo. Antonio was blessed with a large and loving family, and he worked hard to provide for them and raise his five children with patience and love. In 1967, he and his family moved to Detroit, Michigan, in search of greater opportunity. There, Antonio worked in construction, until he retired at the age of 62. Shortly thereafter, he moved to Florida in December 1989 in search of some sunshine and to be with the rest of his family. He kept busy by maintaining his garden and barbequing his delicious steaks every Sunday. He truly was the cornerstone of his family that brought them together. His easy going personality, fantastic memory and love for telling stories kept his family entertained. He is dearly missed by his loved ones, who celebrate the fact that he is at peace with his creator. Antonio is survived by his wife of 62 years, Anna; his daughters, Beatriz Alastra (Anthony), Marina Cervi, Grace Valley (Randy), his son, Ben Cervi; his grandchildren, Jackie Sullivan, Anna Jones, Mario Cervi, Antonio and Christian Valley; his great grandchildren, Ilaria Jones and Anthony Sullivan; and his brothers, Joe Cervi and Carmen Cervi and sister, Sera Keller. He is preceded in death by his son, Mario Cervi, his daughter, Teresa Shinaver (James), his parents; and his siblings, Marietta Vacca, Domenico Cervi, and Gino Cervi. Friends may call Wednesday 6:00-8:00p.m. at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home 4915 S. Clyde Morris Blvd. Port Orange.
