On April 28, 2025, Bryan Michael Barnes passed away at the age of 56 after a short illness.
Bryan will be fondly remembered by his parents, Kurt and Rhonda Sargent Barnes of Port Orange, Florida; his siblings, Devon K. Barnes (Erin) of Pearl, Mississippi, Shaun W. Barnes of Port Orange, Florida, and Megan Barnes Read (Christian) of Orange City, Florida; and his grandmother, Norrene Campbell of Daytona Beach, Florida. He is also survived by his nephews, Ian and Ethan Barnes, and his niece, Reagan Read, along with many beloved Barnes family cousins in Michigan and Florida and his Aunt Carol McKenzie. Family was at the heart of Bryan’s life, and he cherished every moment spent with them, especially with “the little boys” and “the Baby.”
A passionate sports fan, Bryan amassed a vast collection of sports memorabilia and hats. He had a flair for dressing up for every holiday, with Halloween being his favorite—so we all will remember our *Batman Bryan* once more in our hearts, caped and smiling, ready for his next adventure. Bryan graduated from Escambia Westgate Center in Pensacola and attended The ARC of Daytona Beach. In his younger years, he proudly participated in Special Olympics.
Bryan made his home at Carlton Shores in Daytona Beach, where he formed many meaningful friendships. His kindness and joyful spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A celebration of Bryan’s life will be held later this year.
Memorial donations in his honor may be made to The ARC of Volusia County at 100 Jimmy Huger Circle, Daytona Beach, Florida 32117.
