

Christy Knue, 48, of Port Orange, Florida, passed away suddenly on Monday, September 24th.She is survived by her beloved life partner, Rick Zimmer Sr. of Port Orange, her parents James and Jean Knue of The Villages FL, her brother Jamie Knue of Cleveland, OH, and her cherished dog Minnie. Having no children of her own, Christy was an avid animal lover and was the best doggie mommy in the world to her sweet little “Minnie Mae Zimmer” as she loved to call her, and she was indeed her “child”.Christy was born in Cincinnati, OH on October 12, 1969. She was raised and lived in Cincinnati for many years. She attended C.O. Harrison Elementary School, Princeton Junior High School, Princeton High School, and the University of Dayton.Christy moved to Port Orange in 2013 to be closer to the beach, which she always said was the best therapy in the world just as did Rick’s son Rick, Jr. who Christy loved and admired and who sadly preceded Christy in death just two months ago.Christy loved the beach of course but she also loved pizza, antiques, and old classic movies, especially those about Marie Antoinette, and most of all Marilyn MonroeChristy was an extremely talented cosmetologist and had recently joined the staff of SmartStyle Salon in Daytona Beach.She will be remembered by all who were blessed to know her as a warm, caring soul who had a smile that could light up a room.A private viewing will be held for immediate family only on Monday, October 1st.
