Clara K Reed

Clara K. Reed, 94, of Port Orange, passed away October 2, 2012. Clara was born on October 14, 1917 daughter of the late Frederick and Ottilia (Henzler) Weber. She was raised in Buffalo, N.Y. and after graduation from high school began a long career with Aetna Insurance Company. She married William H. Reed on August 31, 1941 and they moved to California then to Washington, D.C. After William joined the State Department, their travels continued taking them to Brazil, Korea, Pakistan, Vietnam and Thailand. Clara always accompanied her husband and did volunteer work whenever possible. After retiring to Port Orange Clara was a member of the International Club of Daytona Beach and All Saints Lutheran Church where she was a member of L.C.W. She was an avid Bridge player and enjoyed reading a book a week. A cherished and loving aunt, she keep in close contact with her nieces and nephews and their families. Besides her parents she is predeceased by her husband William, her twin sister Bertha Kolbe, and sisters Lillian Coney and Bernice Kloesz. Left to cherish her memory is her sister Eleanor Gertz of Buffalo, NY, nine nieces and nephews; and numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held, 2:00 pm, Saturday, November 3, 2012 at All Saints Lutheran Church 751 Dunlawton Ave. Port Orange.
