

David J. Perttula Sr. 69, of Port Orange, passed peacefully on January 14, 2013 @ 12:30 PM at Halifax Medical Center Daytona Beach, Fl. David was born April 4, 1943 in Ontonagon, Michigan son of Ellen (Hattula) and Walfred Perttula. He moved to Florida 14 years ago from Kenosha Wisconsin. David began his career in Kenosha, WI digging ditches for Terabossie Construction in the early 60's. He then received an apprentiship with Martin Peterson Company, in the sheet metal trade, where he later became an owner. He retired after 35 years of service. His family will always remember that he had a heart of gold. He was an avid race fan, he could fix anything, was a jack of all trades, and he was a member of Moose Lodge # 286. After retirement he and his wife enjoyed traveling throughout the United States. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 51 years Frances; his son, David J. Perttula Jr. and his wife Joan of Salem, Wisconsin; daughters, Natalie Perttula and Laura Smith and her husband Christopher of Kenosha Wisconsin brothers Gerald of Trout Creek Michigan and Jay of Fridley, Minnesota; sister Marjorie Voigt of Trout Creek, Michigan; 6 grandchildren, Jody, Krista, Kyle, Summer, CJ and Kory and 4 great-grandchildren. At the family’s request services will be private.
