Dolly Alvarez, 80, of Port Orange, passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at the Halifax Health Hospice Care Center. Dolly was born in Medellin, Columbia and lived many years in New York. She was an x-ray technician at St. Vincent’s and Bellevue Hospitals until her retirement 17 years ago when she relocated to Florida. She will be remembered for her compassionate and generous nature and her love of family. She enjoyed reading and discussing international politics. Left to cherish her memory is her loving daughter and caregiver who took care of her mother till the day she passed, Clara Mac Ginnis; grandsons, Bryan Lewis and Matthew Mac Ginnis; and sisters, Sophie Galeano and Ester Lopez. A memorial service will be held 1:00 p.m., Saturday, April 18, 2015, at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home 4815 Clyde Morris Blvd Port Orange.
