Donald Henry Moutoux

Don was born in Chicago on July 13, 1924 to Henry Moutoux and Anna (Pilote) Moutoux. He served as a Medic in the Army in WWII in the third battalion of the 310th infantry, 78th division and received the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. Following the war, he came back to Chicago, January 1946, where he met his future wife, Clara (Claire) Willgale. They were married on November 30, 1946 at St. Williams Church in Chicago. He worked the majority of his life as a Production Engineer. In 1986 he retired and moved to Port Orange, Florida with his wife.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, his brother Eldon Moutoux, daughter Cheryl Rue Moutoux, and his beloved wife, Clara Moutoux.

He is survived by his son, Myles Moutoux and wife Susan Moutoux of Sammamish, WA, daughter Chandra (Moutoux) Esser and husband Michael Esser of Longwood, FL, daughter Colette Moutoux of Acworth, GA, grandson Brian Esser and his wife Rachel Esser of Ridgewood, New York, grandson Brandon Gonzales and his wife Anna Gonzales of Orland Park IL, grandson Jeremy Gonzales and wife Amanda Gonzales of Richmond Hill, GA, grandson Mark Esser of Lake Mary, FL, great grandson Cameron Gonzales, and his sister Frances Demke.

Don enjoyed woodworking, ping pong, boating, whittling, model ship building, music and sports. In the later years, he enjoyed reading, jigsaw puzzles, adult coloring and the Lawrence Welk Show on Saturday nights. He was a lifelong Chicago Cubs fan and he got to see his Cubs finally win the World Series prior to his passing. Go Cubs! Don was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. His memory will be forever treasured and he will be greatly missed by all.

Services will be held on Thursday December 15, 2016 at 2:00PM in the Chapel of Volusia Memorial Funeral Home 4815 Clyde Morris Blvd. Port Orange, FL.
