Drew Martin, 90 of Fall River Massachusetts, passed away peacefully after a long and wonderfully full life. She will be remembered for her warmth, her independent spirit, her sense of fun, and most of all, the deep and lasting friendships she made throughout her life.
Born in Fall River, Drew was the daughter of Constance Brayton and Nelson Cherry. She attended The Madeira School in Virginia and later Briarcliff College in Massachusetts, where she developed the lifelong friendships, confidence, and curiosity that would become such an important part of who she was.
Drew spent much of her adult life in Providence, Rhode Island, where she married Duncan Martin and raised her two children, Christopher Brayton Cornell Martin and Hope Martin Walker. Throughout her career, she worked in the Alumni Department at The Wheeler School, as an administrator at Mutual Benefit Life Insurance, and later at Bayside Retirement Home.
After retiring, Drew moved to the Sugar Mill Country Club community in New Smyrna Beach, Florida, where she embraced an entirely new chapter of her life. It was there that she created some of her most cherished friendships and memories. Drew loved playing golf, gathering around the card table for games of Mahjong attending parties and celebrations, and simply enjoying the company of the many friends who became like family to her.
Drew is survived by her beloved son, Christopher Brayton Cornell Martin, his wife Carlee Martin, her daughter Hope Walker, and her partner, John Whidden; her cherished grandchildren, Spencer, Matthew, Bradley, Lily, and Caroline and her beloved great-grandchildren, Joseph Spencer and Jillian.
