Elisabeth Borchert, 95, of Port Orange, Florida passed peacefully on January 14, 2013. Elizabeth was born on September 27, 1917 in Konigsberg Ostpreussen, Germany daughter of the late Bertha (Wieck) and Friedeck Plehn. For many years she worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse in Illinois and after retiring to Florida she enjoyed being a homemaker. She also enjoyed swimming and going to the beach. Elizabeth was an outgoing person who was always fair. Her son in law will remember her as his second mother. She was predeceased by her husband Fritz who passed on May 25, 2000. Left to cherish her memory is her son Gunther, two daughters Brigitte (George) Leone and Marianne (Richard) Miscinski; six grandchildren, Debbie, Sue, Mike, Dorie, Dar and Ricky and nine great grandchildren Scott, Keith, Savannah, Sierra, Kayla, T.J., Broc, Keira, and Karlee. The family will receive friends Friday, January 18, 2013 from 11-12 at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home 548 N. Nova Rd. Ormond Beach. Funeral service will follow at noon. Interment will be in Volusia Memorial Park.
