February 9, 1922 – September 24, 2026
Frances Rubano Graham, known to all as Noni, went peacefully to be with the Lord on September 24, 2026, in Daytona Beach Shores, Florida. She was 104 years old.
Frances was born on February 9, 1922, in New York City, to John Catinella and Marietta Sciarabba. She grew up in Mount Vernon and the Bronx, New York. On February 15, 1942, she married Pat Rubano, and together they raised three children. In 1969 the family moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and she later made her home in Orlando. After Pat's passing in 1991, she married Gene Graham in 1998, and they shared 14 years together until his passing in 2012. She spent nine years in Winter Haven with her daughter Patricia and son-in-law Allen, and for the last two years of her life she lived at Heritage Waterside in Daytona Beach Shores, where the staff loved her like family.
Faith was the center of Noni's life. Raised Catholic, she became a born-again Christian around 1973 and trusted the Lord for the rest of her life. When anyone asked how she lived to 104, she always gave the same answer: "One day at a time."
She lived every one of those days fully. Less than a week before her passing, she was dancing with her 95-year-old baby brother John, and she spent her last happy hour at Heritage singing along to “That’s Amore” as loud as she could.
Noni was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Pat Rubano, and her husband Gene Graham.
She is survived by her children, Patricia (Allen) Fuller, Robert (Charlene) Rubano, and Janice (Charles) Hustead; her brother, John; 13 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home, 4815 Clyde Morris Blvd., Port Orange, FL. For those unable to attend, the service will be livestreamed at https://nonis.family/.
She will be laid to rest beside Pat at Woodlawn Memorial Park in a private family entombment.
The family is deeply grateful to the staff of Heritage Waterside and to VITAS Healthcare for their loving care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, which Noni supported.
