
George A. Green died on 10/11/2011 from an extended illness. George was a former New Castle, PA resident who lived in New Smyrna Beach, FL. He was born March 22, 1923 to Fred and Alberta Green. George was a retired mechanic from his own business, Green's Auto Repair. He was a decorated Army veteran who served in WWII in the European fronts. As a staff Sergeant at Normandy and the Battle of the Bulge he led twelve men to war and brought them all home. He was awarded numerous medals for his service and a letters of accommodation from President Truman and General Bradley. He was a member of the Honor Guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. After retirement he and his wife Ruth built their dream house and moved to Florida.
George is survived by his wife of forty two years Ruth, brother Kenneth, sons Roger, Gary, George Jr. 5 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held 1:00PM Tuesday October 25, 2011 at Coronado Methodist Church. Military services will follow in the church court yard. In lieu of flowers please send donations to the National Kidney Foundation, 1040 Woodcock Rd., Orlando, Fl 32803.
