I had "Mr." Blysak in 7th grade at Conackamack Middle School, in Piscataway NJ, circa 1974. He was the sweetest guy on the planet.  He was also our wrestling coach,  I had no idea he was a General in the US Army!  This is an amazing accomplishment.  He and I were both Polish-blooded and he always secretly treated my family with the respect only found on common ground, our ancestry. 

Today, I am 62 years old. I am retired and have four kids.  I worked as a contractor for the US Armed Forces and had some security clearances.  I was educated well. 

Only recently I  found out about his death and his military achievements.  What a wonderful person is sitting with God at this very moment. 

I never had the chance to thank him for his contribution to raising me with the proper morals and values, which can only be found during that era and chapter in the United States. All of these virtues have disappeared nowadays. It is impossible to explain to my children how wonderful our country used to be, in no small part due to folks like "Captain Bly", as we used to call him.  Had my teammates known he was a General, we would have addressed him accordingly.  

New Jersey was a special place in the '60s and '70s.  It has long since metamorphosed into something else.  What a pity!  It was truly a utopia on Earth, undeserving of the silly rhetoric assigned to it by ignorant people.   I think they were jealous.

I am very pleased and proud to have been in Mr. Blysak's classes, especially knowing his ancestors came from the same part of Poland/Belarus as mine.  I only wish I could turn back time and thank him. I hope I made him proud and represented the graduates of Conackamack justly. 

 Walk with God in his kingdom, knowing you made a huge impression on a young Polish American boy from NJ in the 1970s.  This young boy became a man. He became a decent civilian, which was his goal as a teacher.  It is all he ever ask for.

I was saddened to hear of cousin George's passing today from my cousin Marion.  I remember Cousin George fondly from visits to his parents home in NJ. when I was a child and later in life at family weddings and other occasions. I remember General Blyzak when he was the Battalion Commander of 3/112 FA.  He was a great soldier and leader.  It was an honor to serve with him.

General Blysak will be fondly remembered as an outstanding commander, mentor and friend. It was honor and privilege to  serve with him.

So Sorry to hear og George's passoing.  I taught with him at Conackamack and the High School. My husband and I met him at one of the Guard's dinners.  My husband was in the Air Guard. He die last year of cancer at 74.  It is too early for these guys to die so young.  My prayers and condolences are with you.  they served their country well.

George was a fine Officer and a Gentleman, and admired by his troops. I was privileged to serve with him at Morristown 3/112FA in the 70s/80s. I played "Oldies" on my guitar at camp for the guys, and I fondly remember George, our Batn.XO, joining in and requesting his favorite song "For Sentimental Reasons", and singing right along, with that great smile on his face. Rest in peace, Sir, you have touched so many lives. I offer my sincere condolences to your family.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I recall George as a dedicated no-nonsense educator with an amazing sense of humor who inspired me in my early days at Piscataway High School. I am fortunate to have known and worked with George.

My sympathies to the entire family.  It was my privilege to serve alongside George at Fort Benning, Georgia, where we were the only two artillery officers in an all infantry unit.  I got to appreciate George's dedication to duty as well as his sense of humor.  He will be missed.
