Our Dad – Born on March 27, 1934 – 85 years young. His Mom was Gladys and his Dad was George Conklin Clark Senior. He is survived by one brother – Lanny. His brothers Billy and Gary along with his Mom and Dad will be greeting him in heaven.
George Clark, at the age of 23, just out of the Air Force, a quiet, humble, true gentleman, meets Maureen Gross, at age 16 a vivacious, straight forward, and very bright young lady – By the way (she may have fibbed about her age). They connect – If you look at all the pictures in this room – you can visibly see the Love. This was a true love story. Dad and Mom were soulmates. While Dad was quiet and somewhat reserved, he was a force to be reckoned with! He let Mom think she was in charge, but when push came to shove, and he put his foot down, we all listened!
Dad and Mom- raised 5 children – George, Cathy, Ricky, Mike and Tim. Four of us a year apart then came Tim- You know we had to tease Tim. We all loved when Dad came home from a trip – he was an over the road Truck Driver. We would run out and jump all over him. But then when we got older and he was home for a few days and trying to discipline us we were like – OK, Mom when is Dad leaving…..
This past week we had the honor of sitting with the family and heard stories that we had never heard before. While Dad listened, we reminisced. He took us all on trips to Ft Lauderdale, and we always had a blast. My brothers helped him and in the end, they all became truck drivers – It was in their blood.
Dad or “Papa George” really made an impact – he was a man’s man, loved men talk and just being around all of the guys– everyone new, that when he was around that they were to show respect. If you needed anything, he was the man to call. He taught me how to change the oil in my car. I was his favorite little girl, not having any sisters, we formed a special bond.
My Dad has the Best Daughter in laws and Son in law. He always treated them as if they were his children and loved them dearly. Carole, Joanne, Jody, and Bill. Just want to give a special shout out to Donna, Lisa and Danny. They have taken such good care of our family while we have been going through this tough time over the last 8 weeks.
My Dad had 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren with one more on the way- Grandchildren- Jessica, Samantha, Lacie, Dylan, Christopher, Ricky, Billy, Katie, Ryan and Sydney. Great Grand Children- Tylynn, Nicholas, Avery and soon to be little Liam. He has many Nephews and Nieces. He was truly loved by all.
As you can see around the room, Dad loved old Cars. We wanted to share with his family and friends his love for these cars. Please feel free as a family to select a Car and take it home for you to remember our Dad by.
