

Funeral Mass for George Nogueras who passed away February 21 at Halifax Medical Center will be 8:30 am Friday February 25 at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church. Visitation will be Thursday 5pm-7pm at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home, Port Orange with a prayer vigil service at 6:30pm. Mr. Nogueras was born in Puerto Rico and moved to this area in 1989 from Valley Stream, NY. He was a retired electrician from Con Edison of New York. Mr. Nogueras was a member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church and the Masonic lodge in New York. He was a WWII Navy veteran and enjoyed doing handyman work around the house and caring for his wife, Kathleen. Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Kathleen; three sons, George of Queens, Jerry (Nancy), Port Orange, and Bobby (Lisa) Polakowski, Massachusetts; three daughters, Yolanda (Joe) Sullivan, Deland, Maria Nogueras, New York, and Joy (Bashir) Alvi, New York; fourteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild. The family kindly asks donations be made in Mr. Nogueras memory to Hospice of Volusia/Flagler 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, Fl 32129.
