

He was born in Tripoli, Libya on April 25, 1938. He moved to America in 1962 and lived in Brooklyn, NY, then moved to Port Orange, FL, in 1988.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years Josephine Caruso and their 2 sons and daughter, Joseph Caruso and his 3 children Joseph, Isabella and Rosaline. Steven Caruso and his wife Kate and their 2 children Christopher and Kaitlyn, Lisa Utz and her 2 children Jessica and Julia. He has 2 sisters, Pasqualina and Antonietta and her husband Silvio. He has 2 sisters-in-law, Carmen Sutton and husband Robert, Sylvia Battiato and her husband Sam and brother-in-law Frank DiLuciano as well as numerous nephews, nieces and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father Giuseppe and Alfonza, his siblings: Filippo and wife Adriana, Pietro, Carmello, Salvatore, Maria, Rosetta, Gianna. His mother and father in-law Achille and Maria DiLuciano and his son-in-law Steven Utz. His sister-in-law and brother-in-law Sebastian and Angela Santangelo and his niece and nephew Danielle and Nicholas.
He loved watching all kinds of sports such as soccer and football. He had a great pride to be an American but enjoyed cheering for his Italian teams. In July he was happy to watch Jannik Sinner become the first Italian to win the Wimbledon singles championship.
He loved Sunday dinners with his family. He always had a joke to put a smile on your face. At our family occasions he always loved to dance to his favorite songs “Gloria” and “Evita.” His favorite saying was “Yee-haw” like the cowboys, as he grew up watching cowboy movies in Tripoli. The countless memories he left us with will be forever cherished in our hearts until we are together again.

The family will receive friends and loved ones at a visitation on Sunday, September 21 from 2 pm - 4 pm, with a service beginning at 4 pm at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home - Port Orange, 4815 S. Clyde Morris Blvd., Port Orange. Mass of Christian Burial will take place Monday, September 22 at 8:30 am at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, 4675 S. Clyde Morris Blvd., Port Orange.
