Gladys Higgins Tedesco, of Daytona Beach, FL passed away on February 19, 2026 – a few days after her 95th birthday. Preceded in death by her husband Lawrence (Lou) Tedesco, and siblings Rosemarie (Zwergel), Buddy, Danny and Kevie, Gladys is survived by her daughter Amy (Eric) Schumacher, and several nieces and nephews. Additionally, she was “Aunt Sissy” , a role she cherished, to Robby, Timmy, Brian, Kathleen, John, Nancy, Danny, Kevie, Mary Frances, Tommy, Pat, Joan, David, Patty, Shawn, Matty, and Martin.
Gladys was a devout Catholic, and proud alumna of Holy Rosary and St. John the Baptist schools. An avid reader, she especially liked mysteries and enjoyed works by Mary Higgins Clark.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2026 at 8:30am at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, 4675 S. Clyde Morris Blvd., Port Orange FL. A secondary Celebration of Life will be planned at a later date in Pittsburgh.
