Grace Sartory, age 93, of Port Orange, passed away on June 14, 2015. She was born in Brooklyn, NY on October 30, 1921 and moved to Port Orange in 1980 where she retired from AT&T as a phone operator. She is predeceased by her parents, Grace and Clarence Carlton, her husband, Chris Sartory, sisters, Joan Delapine and Mary Carlton, grandchildren, Billy Seymour and Sara Sartory, as well as stepchildren, Marie, Christopher and Robert Sartory, and daughter-in-law Margo Sartory.
She is survived by her sister, Virginia Miller. She is a beloved mother to survivors Jack Samland, Madeleine Seymour (Chip), Daniel Sartory, and Brian Sartory (Donna). She was also a loving grandmother to 11 grandchildren, including Cherese, Kim Marie, Stacy, Shannon, Christina, Lindsay, Danny, Emily, Taylor, Kevin and Brendon. She was also cherished by 9 great-grandchildren. She was loved by her daughter-in-law Arlene Samland, niece Jeanine Delapine and many other wonderful nieces and nephews.
She enjoyed all family activities, as well as bingo, bowling and all card games. She was especially proud of being the family "Yahtzee Queen." She was a very strong, independent and fun woman who took great pleasure in caring for all who loved her. She will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
Visitation hours will be from 2pm-4pm, then again at 6pm-8pm on Friday, June 19, 2015 at Shannon Maloney Funeral Home, 4084 Halifax Dr. Port Orange, FL 32127. Funeral service will be 10am on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at Shannon Maloney Funeral Home, with Reverend Jim Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Daytona Memorial Park North.
