In 1954, at the age of 15, the family moved to The Netherlands. In The Netherlands, she met Rudy Van de Graaff, married her sweetheart and immigrated to the U.S.A. in 1960 sponsored by sisters Mary and Loretta Streb of Portland, Oregon and their local Catholic Church. In 1972 they moved their family of three daughters Linda, Debby and Heidi to Queensland, Australia and returned to the U.S.A. in 1979 and settled in Orlando, FL. In retirement from the hospitality business, Jane wanted a quiet place to live and they created a little jungle paradise in Pine Island, FL. They planted most of the tropical fruit and trees she grew up with, palm trees were especially her favorite. Mom picked her nickname Jane from the characters of the Hollywood movie Tarzan. Jane made many friends who she hopes to meet again one day along with her family whom she is very proud of. She wants you all to know that she is fine, just gone out of your sight until we meet again.
Jane is survived by her three girls Linda, Debby, and Heidi and their husbands, Rod, Mike, and Kevin and her five grandchildren, Patrick, Rachael and her husband Dakota, Sierra, Shane, and Travis. She is also survived by other family members and loved ones who brightened her days following Rudy’s passing in October 2017.
In lieu of flowers, please pray for the family, plant a tree in remembrance or donate to your favorite Animal Rescue.
