

The very lovely and beautiful Irene Bisceglie Cardino left this earth to join God on June 2, 2017. She joins her husband of 56 years, Emil J. Cardino and her two sons, Ronald V. Cardino and Lawrence A. Cardino in Heaven.
Daughter of Domenico and Catherina Bisceglie, Irene Cardino was born March 31, 1925 in Newark, New Jersey. She grew up and became an accountant and office manager for a number of very successful companies in New Jersey. Irene was also very active with the Democratic Party in the state of New Jersey. One of her fondest memories was having lunch with Congressman Peter Rodino and John F. Kennedy in Washington DC. She was also a very active member of the school board in Montclair and Belvedere, New Jersey.
After moving to Florida, she worked part time in the accounting department for Belk Lindsey Department Store and devoted most of her time and energy to serving God and Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church in Port Orange, Florida. Irene enjoyed traveling to Italy and visiting Rome and was blessed to attend numerous group audiences with the Pope.
Left to cherish her memory is her son, Gregory A. Cardino and his wife Nina Y. Cardino of Daytona Beach; grandson, Christopher G. Cardino and his wife Jessica L. Cardino of Port Orange; sister, Fran Liscio of Riverside, CA; step-grandchildren, Christy M. Morrison of Norfolk, VA and Tanner R. Cornwell of Port Orange ; great grandchildren, Eli C. Cardino and Evan G. Cardino of Port Orange, Taylor A. Goetz and Avery L. Morrison of Norfolk, VA and 16 nieces and nephews.
During her last few weeks of life on this earth, Irene was under the care of the loving and caring staff of Halifax Health Hospice in Port Orange. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that you consider a donation in Irene’s name to Halifax Health Hospice, 3800 Woodbriar Trail Port Orange, FL 32129. Visitation will be from 5pm- 7pm, Thursday June 15, 2017 at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home 4815 S. Clyde Morris Blvd, Port Orange. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 8:30 am Friday June 16, 2017 Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, Port Orange with Rev. Raymond O'Leary officiating.
